Capello recently left Chinese club Jiangsu Suning by mutual consent. He went to the Far East last year but a poor run has led the veteran Italian to halt his Chinese adventure. The 71-year-old has previously managed top clubs like Juventus and Real Madrid and also has a four-year experience of managing the England national side.
Capello joins a long list of managers being linked with the post at the Emirates with the other candidates being Thomas Tuchel, Carlo Ancelotti, Massimiliano Allegri and Mikel Arteta.
