Ex Arsenal player Jeremie Alliadiere has been given a lifeline in order to reignite his fallen career by the French outfit Lorient, who have signed him on a free transfer in a one year deal. The French striker who has also played for middlesbrough was left club less last summer after he was released by the club and later was granted permission to train with arsenal squad by Arsene Wenger in order to help him keep himself fit .He was even allowed to participate in a reserve game for Arsenal in the latter part of the season.

The story of Alliadiere is one of a lost or perhaps faded prodigy. The French striker was snapped up by Arsenal at an early age from Clairefontaine academy but failed to live up to his reputation in England .Marred by injuries and lack of first team experience due to the presence of big guns like Dennis Bergkamp , Thierry Henry , Sylvain Wiltord and Robin Van Persie and Emmanuelle Adebayor in the later years .With several fruitless loan moves the striker finally decided to move away from London scoring only once in his six year stint with the club in a move that saw him move to Middlesbrough .He was still troubled with injuries and never proved as influential as was deemed .With couple of years in the second tier of English football the player was released and has finally got a chance to prove himself in his homeland .Lorient coach Christian Gourcuff seemed confident after securing the 28 year old’s signature claiming that it is quite possible for the player to overcome his critics and deliver for Lorient .
