Arsenal Transfer News: Rosicky Wants Arsenal Stay, Hopeful Over Fabregas

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has pledged his immediate future to the club, and said that he wants to achieve big things with the North London team. Arsenal have endured a difficult summer so far, facing exit speculation on many of its players including Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy.

Rosicky said that he could easily move to a team where he would play a more important role in its play, and have a more comfortable ordinary life. But he stressed his desire to stay on at Arsenal and win things in England.

Talking to iDNES.cz, Rosicky said that he had spoken to Wenger, who had assured him that the Czech midfielder was in Arsenal’s plans next seasons and there was no intention of selling him. He said-

“I don’t want to go somewhere where I would have it easier and where even the ordinary life would be easier for me. I want to achieve something with Arsenal.”

“On Monday, I am starting pre-season with Arsenal. Before vacation I was speaking with coach Wenger and he told me he counted on my services and that there was no intention of selling me.”

Rosicky has been extremely unlucky in his Arsenal career, suffering a freak injury that kept him out of action for well over a year, and many niggling injuries besides. He has also been plagued with repeated bouts of illness. He revealed that he had had his tonsils removed a few weeks ago on his doctor’s advice that they were the cause of all illnesses.

Rosicky, who is also close friends with Cesc Fabregas, was hopeful that the Spaniard would stay on at Arsenal next season. Fabregas has been the subject of a very public courting by Barcelona for three seasons running now, and many media outlets are reporting that a deal has virtually been done between the parties involved.

Rosicky stated his desire for Cesc to remain at Arsenal however, praising his performances last season. When asked about the future of the club captain, he said-

“I was talking to him on the phone recently, but I don’t know.”

“Even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell. I would like to see him stay because he is a good mate as well as an excellent football player.”

It remains to be seen whether the Cesc Fabregas transfer finally happens this summer or not, but it looks like Rosicky will continue to don Arsenal colours next season regardless.
