Carlo Ancelotti is Arsenal's Plan B

It has become clear that Arsenal's top choices for the club's next manager are Enrique and Allegri. But the Gunners are preparing for a backup plan if both of their top managerial candidates reject their offer.

The Daily Star has claimed that Arsenal have kept Carlo Ancelotti as a backup if they cannot lure Allegri or Enrique to the Emirates before the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Arsenal will also look to have Patrick Viera or Mikel Arteta as an assistant to the former Chelsea boss.

The German playmaker has reportedly drawn the ire of his teammates

After a scathing criticism from Martin Keown, Mesut Özil has now reportedly come under the wrath of his Arsenal teammates. The Sun has claimed that the majority of the Arsenal squad is fed up with Özil's lackadaisical attitude and is angered with the playmaker's inconsistency.

The players also suspect that the German is being allowed to choose which games to play which has not gone down well with them. Özil has not started 25 out of 58 games for Arsenal this season and has missed the last five Premier League matches.

Özil is Arsenal's highest paid player, earning £350,000 per week after signing a new deal.
