Walcott needs massive improvements to extend stay

As per Gambling Times, Arsene Wenger is set to end his long association with Theo Walcott in the coming January window. The Englishman has so far failed to become a first-teamer during his time at the club. The heavy competition for places in the forward line with the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette has only made things worse.

The report states that time is running out for the 28-year old at the Emirates and Wenger is open to letting the attacker leave. Moreover, Walcott is also said to be open about his future as he needs to be playing regularly at this stage in order to have a chance to get selected for the World Cup next year.

The speedster is not short of suitors as West Ham, Crystal Palace and Southampton are all reported to be interested. Everton, who are looking to sign one of Walcott's team-mates, Olivier Giroud or Danny Welbeck, are open to signing him as well if an opportunity springs up.

Both Alexandre Lacazette and Antoine Griezmann play for France and the former joined Arsenal this summer. Lacazette revealed his idea to convince his countryman to sign for Arsenal ahead of Manchester United, who are trying to sign the Atletico Madrid striker for a while now.

Lacazette told Match of the Day:

"Yeah, we are very good friends and have lots of fun. Our nicknames for each other are Griezzy and Lacaz. If Griezzy visits me in London, I’m going to ask him to sign for Arsenal!"

While there are several factors and hurdles for Wenger to sign Griezmann, a strong French presence definitely increases the chances of a move.

Inter Milan chief rules out January move for Ozil

Liverpool v Arsenal - Premier League
Inter Milan sporting director spoke about his club's interest in Ozil

The Italian side's sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke about Ozil to Premium Sport:

“We are studying our squad, we have scouts everywhere and they look at every kind of player. I don’t think players like him (Ozil) will be leaving in January."
“Luciano Spalletti knows this team has room from improvement, that’s what we are working on. He (Ozil) is definitely one of those players we are looking at.”

Arsenal can feel relaxed that Inter Milan might not try to sign the player in January. Nevertheless, a player of Ozil's quality will have more suitors and moreover, the Gunners need to tie him down to a new contract before the end of this season.
