Unai Emery - was upset by the midweek draw
Unai Emery - was upset by the midweek draw

In all competition, Unai Emery’s Arsenal are now unbeaten in 20 games, winning 15 and drawing 5 of those. Their best run since 2007, where they went unbeaten for 28 straight games.

The manager was upset by the draw a Old Trafford during midweek, this just goes to show how far The Gunners have come since the first 2 defeats at the hands of City and Chelsea.

The Arsenal faithful will hope to extend this unbeaten streak as they welcome David Wagner’s resolute Huddersfield on Saturday. Although Huddersfield lost their midweek away game against Bournemouth, they have never lost 2 in a row since March. It's a statistic Wagner could take some positives from, otherwise the game has an Arsenal win written all over it.

Arsenal team news

Mesut Ozil may sit this one out too due to a back injury

Emery will be forced to make a few changes in personnel and tactics, due to injuries to some of his players.

Rob Holding who was stretchered off at Manchester United, is the recent casualty in the Arsenal medical room. He has been ruled out for 6 to 9 months due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

It’s a big setback for the player and the manager alike, as Holding was looking a far better ball-playing defender under Emery.

Mesut Ozil may sit this one out too due to a back injury (spasm), and Aaron Ramsey seems doubtful, as he came off injured at Old Trafford.

Nacho Monreal is yet sidelined due to a hamstring issue, and Danny Welbeck is undergoing rehabilitation after a couple of surgeries performed on his broken ankle.

The good news is that Arsenal’s captain, Laurent Koscielny, has been back in contention for a while. He played a few games with the U-23 team, and has a good number of minutes under his belt.

Possible Arsenal line-up

Goalkeeper: It’s a no-brainer, Bernd Leno will start every time he’s fit.

Defense: Stephen Lichtsteiner is expected to start in Holding’s stead, as The Gunners are expected to go with 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 formation. Sokratis and Mustafi should be the other two alongside the Swiss.

Midfield: In the light of Monreal’s injury, Emery is expected to stick with Kolasinac at left-wing. Going forward the Bosnian has been a real revelation this season, making those darting runs, but there are still a few question marks over his defensive abilities. It was his error which led to United’s second equaliser.

Ramsey’s injury means that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start on the left-wing on Saturday. Matteo Guendouzi, the 19-yr old starlet, may have to take the bench as Granit Xhaka should be back alongside Lucas Torreira in the starting XI after serving his one match ban (5 yellow cards).

Forward: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the top-scorer with 10 goals so far into the season, will lead the line for Arsenal. Lacazette may come on as a sub for either Mkhitaryan or Iwobi, depending on how the game progresses.
