Arsenal are monitoring Colombia defender and West Ham flop Pablo Armero and it is believed the World Cup star is keen on a move to the Gunners, according to ESPN.

Southampton are also believed to be suitors for the 27-year-old who spent the end of last season with West Ham in the Premier League.

Armero impressed in Colombia’s escapades in Brazil before eventually being knocked out by the hosts at the quarter-final stage and it is suggested he wants a return to the Premier League.

A source close to the player has reportedly told ESPN FC that Armero is “desperate to get back to the Premier League on a permanent basis,” with managers Ronald Koeman and Arsene Wenger believed to be interested in the Colombian.

Armero is currently a registered player at Serie A side Udinese, who bought him outright last month after previously co-owning him with Napoli, where he played in the first half of 2013-14 before falling out of favour with manager Rafa Benitez.
