Arsenal's Road Ahead

With Arsenal being out of every competition, the only thing left to seal a Champions League spot. The only team who will give Arsenal competition for 4th spot is their own North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. This was one of the frustrating seasons for the gunners, ups and downs from the start, from the 6-1 win over Southampton to the exit in the Champions League. But with the season almost coming to an end (nine matches remain), let’s see what’s their road ahead .

Almost all reliable sources have said this will be the first summer where Arsene will keep his squad intact and that no key players will leave. Team captain Vermaelen and Right Back Barcary Sagna both are rumoured to exit in summer but are they key players any more? With their drop in form, Wenger has started to bench them and started Jenkinson and Koscielny ahead of them. Both have performed much better than the former.

Probable Transfers

With the new Emirates deal and dead wood getting sold (this includes Djourou, Bendtner, Chamakh, Park, Denilson), it will free up wages to sign new players and to keep hold of current ones. The gunners have more cash to spend this time, compared to last seasons and they can compete in the market with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester United. Here, we see how they can improve in all aspects.

Defence

With Fabianski and Mannone rumoured to make exit in summer, they will need a good keeper who can challenge Szczesny for the spot. This will make him more stronger. Szczesny is surely one for the future for the gunners, but with his cocky and over confident nature, he sometimes makes mistakes, leading them to leak goals at crucial times. The club captain Vermaelen, who is nowhere near his best, might even leave to Barcelona, leaving the gunners to get his replacement. They should get a good center back and they can build a steely and strong defence which will help them concede less.

Midfield

If they get a strong defensive midfielder to provide steel in midfield, some one like Bender or Capoue, being paired up with Arteta , and who can act as 3rd center back when needed . This will help Arteta to move ahead comfortably , and distribute ball on wings , with Jack Wilshere behind the striker , this will add more thread in their attack . What more ? a good Support striker like Jovetic who can play in the hole .Too t threatening attack and the fact that jovetic can also net goals is another thing

Forwards

Giroud’s second season in epl . Can he improve his second touch and be a Beasty goal scorer silencing his critics ? It will be tough but not impossible . Podolski – Cazorla – Giroud – Walcott , the attacking thread have netted 50 + goals this season and it will increase with more matches remaining , if the gunners invest in midfield , this attack will go more strong and a more threatening one ..Only time will tell whats the future for the gunners and we can just predict it
