Arsene Wenger confirms Arsenal are active in the transfer market
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal is quite active in the ongoing January transfer window and he claims that the club officials are working ”hour by hour”.
The Frenchman, who has shown great interest in signing German wonder kid Julian Draxler, has stated that the club is in the market for top talents and anything can happen in the final hours of the transfer window.
Arsenal is believed to be closing in on a double swoop for Schalke youngster Julian Draxler and Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic.
But Wenger told the club’s official website that he is not close to signing anyone at this moment, though he added that he’s taking the task “hour-by-hour”.
“Are we active? Yes,” he said. “Are we close to sign anybody? No.
“There’s not long now that’s true. First, the situation was going like always in a transfer market – week by week. In the last two weeks it goes day by day, now it goes hour by hour.
“In any hour anything can happen or change but at the moment, unfortunately, we are not signing anybody.”
