Arsenal travel to Anfield this Saturday to face 4th placed Liverpool and Arsene Wenger knows that the partnership of Suarez and Sturridge will be the biggest threat.

Arsenal play a possession based game and Wenger feels that the lesser Liverpool see the ball the better for Arsenal, “[It is important] for us to dominate the game and leave them as few balls as possible, That will be one of our targets of course.

“At Liverpool the task might be a bit more difficult but the philosophy on our side has to be the same – to master the ball and to have the ball and to dominate the game,” he added.

Liverpool’s SAS partnership have scored 37 goals between them this season and Wenger knows that their strike force is potent enough to hurt anyone hence his defenders will need a solid game, “Liverpool have a strong offensive force with Sturridge, with Suarez, with Coutinho, with Sterling behind. All these players can score goals and make a difference. So what you want on our side is a strong defensive performance.

The game against Liverpool starts a difficult 2 week period for Arsenal where they face Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, so Wenger will be hopeful that his team gets a good result to start the difficult run of fixtures.

Wenger also said that he has 2 good strikers in Giroud and Bendtner and does not regret about the fact that he failed to sign Suarez in the summer, “No, You sometimes have regrets when a player played for you, and scores goals or does well somewhere else. He was never our player, it is just a situation that did not come off and that is it.”
