Rio de Janeiro, Nov 20 (IANS) Atletico Mineiro rose to fourth in Brazil's Serie A standings after Flamengo's 4-0 rout.
Luan struck either side of halftime while Brazil international forward Diego Tardelli and Dodo were also on target at Belo Horizonte's Independencia stadium Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
Atletico now have 61 points with three matches remaining, one point ahead of Internacional and Gremio. Flamengo are 10th with 47 points.
In Rio de Janeiro, Botafogo's hopes of avoiding relegation suffered a blow after a 0-1 loss to Figueirense at the Maracana stadium.
Franca's second-half goal lifted Figueirense to 13th while Botafogo fell to second-last, at least six points from safety.
