After weeks of “will he, won’t he”, Chilean wonderkid Alexis Sanchez has now officially joined the Catalan Club.
A statement on club’s official website read:
“FC Barcelona and Udinese have reached an agreement on the transfer of Alexis Sánchez. The deal is for 5 years. The cost of the transfer is 26 million with variable cost of 11.5 million.”
Sanchez, who started his youth career at Cobreloa, made 45 appearances for the Chilean club’s senior team, scoring 12 goals, before being transferred to Serie A club Udinese. The player spent two seasons on loan at Chilean club Colo Colo and Argentine club River Plate before making his Serie A debut against Juventus in 2008.
Sanchez’ performances have been sensational ever since his return from Argentina and Barcelona had to face stiff competition from both Manchester based clubs to sign the Chile international.
Sanchez possesses express pace and a pin point delivery and is looked upon as a long term successor of Spaniard Andres Iniesta.
