Barcelona, June 2 (IANS) Spanish football champions FC Barcelona confirmed on Thursday that Brazilian defender Dani Alves has announced his intention to leave the Catalan club.
The Brazilian player, who last year extended his contract until 2017, will leave the Catalan club for free this summer after eight seasons with Barcelona.
"Dani Alves has decided to leave. It's a personal decision that we respect," sporting director Robert Fernandez confirmed on Thursday through the club's official Twitter account.
