Cesc Fabregas of FC Barcelona looks on during the La Liga match between FC Barcelona and Levante UD at Camp Nou

Man United and Arsenal will have their ears to the ground are Barcelona are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for midfielder Cesc Fabregas in the summer, according to Goal.com.

The former Arsenal midfielder has endured a tough season despite it being one if his best statistically since arriving at Camp Nou. It has been a largely forgettable campaign for the reigning La Liga champions, and Fabregas has found himself being used as the scapegoat by the club’s supporters, reaching it’s peak when he was jeered by the Catalan support after Barca’s 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao.

The 26-year-old has found himself on fringes of the first-team in recent weeks, but it is unknown whether he would be open to a move away from the Catalan club, especially given Arsenal and, more alarmingly, Man United’s poor seasons.

If Barcelona were to sell the midfielder, then Goal say that Arsenal would have first refusal on their former player and could activate a fixed buy-back clause (£23.8m) that they agreed when they originally sold him to the Spanish giants.

There will no doubt be interest from other parties, but considering his affiliation with the north London club, it would be a surprise to see him turn down a return to the Emirates if he was deemed surplus to requirements by Tata Martino.
