What an epic move!

What’s the story?

Barcelona have made a £70 million bid for Real Madrid star, James Rodriquez according to El Chiringuito. The Spanish TV Station claim that the Catalan side are extremely keen on getting the Colombian to Camp Nou.

James is the 2nd Madrid player to be linked with a move to Camp Nou after Isco was said to be on the radar of the Catalan side. Reports even suggested that Barcelona were ready to offer the Spaniard €20 million so that he does not renew his contract at Bernabeu and joins them after the current contract expired.

In case you didn’t know...

James Rodriguez has been having a tough time at Real Madrid. The winger has been benched more often than not this season and has been left frustrated.

He has made just seven La Liga appearances under Zinedine Zidane this season despite being promised more minutes. He wanted to exit the club in January, but they convinced him to stay as they could not sign a replacement due to the transfer ban.

The heart of the matter

Barcelona are on the hunt to add more world class talent to their squad to challenge Real Madrid for the title and have now set sights on signing a player from Los Blancos itself.

Lionel Messi is a big fan of the Colombian and had advised him to leave the Madrid club in December. The Argentine is now said to be interested in working with the winger at Camp Nou, and Spanish reports further suggest that it's Messi who has persuaded Barcelona to make this signing.

Carlo Ancelotti is also said to be a huge fan of the former AS Monaco winger and wants him at Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga league leaders were linked with the forward, and some media outlets said that he had agreed to join them in the summer.

What’s next?

Barcelona are said to be extremely keen on signing James Rodriguez, and they are bound to make a bid for him in the summer. It's highly likely to be rejected by Real Madrid, but nothing is going to stop the Catalan side from trying.

Madrid are sure to sell him in the summer but would prefer him moving to Chelsea so that they can get Eden Hazard in return. The Blues were linked with a move for him in the January transfer window as Antonio Conte was searching for a replacement for Oscar, who has moved to China.

Author’s Take

It's going to be an exciting transfer window in the summer. Real Madrid players are being linked with Barcelona and vice versa. I for once hope that the clubs make a swap deal and that, that will break the internet like never before!
