Barcelona’s new kits for the 2014-15 season have been unveiled. FC Barcelona recently revealed their New kit for the upcoming season with stars like Messi,Neymar,Xavi and Iniesta joining Barcelona B players Sergi Samper,,Edgar Ié and Jean Marie Dongou Tsafack in unveiling the new kit.Nike and FC Barcelona launched the new kit under the motto “Crafted to Win” and a closer look at the jersey will surely give you the reasons for the motto.
The new kit bears the traditional red and blue Barcelona stripes in a bold and classic tone.The shirt features an enlarged crest on the upper chest and Inside the back of the neck is a blue pennant tab with Barcelona’s inspirational club motto: ‘Més que un club’ (More than a club) and their foundation year of 1899.But the most salient feature of the new kit is the Senyera flag underneath the collar. This is the first time the Catalan colours have appeared outside the badge on the home design.The new home shorts are blue with a thin red stripe along each side, while the new home socks are blue with a red band at the top and a wide red stripe of chevrons on the back. As usual the name of the sponsors ‘Qatar Airways’ appears on the front of the shirt with “UNICEF” on the back.
Nike has implemented it’s Dri-Fit Technolgy in designing the kit, which draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts where it quickly evaporates. The shirts also feature laser-cut ventilation holes to promote localized cooling, to help regulate player temperatures during a match.Environmental Sustainability is at the forefront of Nike’s designs these days and this kit is no exception.The kit is made from recycled plastic bottles – shorts are 100 percent recycled polyester; the shirts are 96 percent recycled polyester, while the socks are 78 percent.
This kit carries forward the iconic status of the club’s colours and striped design with the use of modern design techniques and FC Barcelona will truely hope the new kit and the dawn of the new season will help forget the dissappointments of the recently concluded season and will be the start of a successful era under Luis Enrique.
