Atletico Madrid president claimed that it would be nice to see Barcelona win the Champions League

Atletico Madrid president, Enrique Cerezo, has claimed that it would be nice to see Barcelona win the Champions League at the Wanda Metropolitano this campaign. The UEFA Champions League Final will be played in the Spanish Capital at the new stadium of Atletico Madrid.

Speaking to Catalunya Radio, SER Esports, Atletico president said:

“Let's hope Barça lift the European Cup at the Metropolitano”

But the Atletico Madrid president ruled out Griezmann joining LaLiga rivals Barcelona in the coming summer transfer window. The French forward ruled out a move to the Catalan giants in a dramatic way last season but he is still being linked with Barcelona by the Spanish media outlets.

Few days ago, Atleti president claimed Griezmann would not move in an interview.

When he was pressed further by a journalist asking him: 'Griezmann remains safe, you're 100 per cent sure?' Cerezo replied: "Antoine remains at Atleti, for sure."

Cerezo again dismissed those rumours and joked that both Griezmann and Messi would look good at Atletico Madrid.

When asked about Antoine Griezmann, Cerezo, said: "He would make a very good strike partnership with Messi - at Atlético”

When asked about Saturday's clash between the top two in the LaLiga, he said: “On Saturday, I'd like to see a game with a lot of goals and one which the public really enjoys watching”.

"If it were up to me, I would go back, but we don't know what the future will bring," .
