Barcelona’s president has compared Lionel Messi to popular Japanese anime Doraemon

Josep Maria Bartomeu, the current president of Barcelona has compared himself to Nobita Nobi the main protagonist in the children’s TV show while also comparing Lionel Messi to Doraemon!.

In an interview on Barcelona TV, Bartomeu said:

"It doesn't bother me that they call me this. When Barça played the World Club Cup in Japan they asked me why I was getting called Nobita and I told them that I suppose it was due to me looking rather like him physically.

“Alternatively, it could be because at Barça we have a Doraemon in Messi who is able to find solutions for all our difficult situations. And if there's a Doraemon, there has to be a Nobita".

Bartomeu might be very happy with being called Nobita Nobi but it remains to be seen whether Lionel Messi is happy being called Doraemon.

Enrique might rest MSN trio

Luis Enrique, meanwhile is likely to rest a few of the MSN trio, so as to prevent any risk of injury. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Barcelona manager said “Resting the three forwards will depend on what I see fit. It is something that I haven't brought up. We will see - to be a coach is to continually take decisions.”

“Each player has their own physical profile and we have it under control. Don't worry, because I always do things that benefit the team. We will not commit risks. I like to go through the week thinking that everyone could play and until one hour before the game, they don't know who will play. I like that they have this uncertainty.”

“Fatigue is normal and common, similar to last season, and I'm looking forward to the key games that will decide the titles.Last year Suarez couldn't play [at the start of the season], so it's normal he has played more minutes. Sometimes I have made changes early, but that is not normal”
