Timo Werner is wanted by Barcelona

Barcelona interested in signing Timo Werner ahead of Real Madrid

The Catalans missed out on two top Spanish talents in Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio to Real Madrid and are looking to put one over their arch-rivals. As per Don Balon, Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club president, wants to sign RB Leipzig's Timo Werner.

The 21-year old is one of the hottest young strikers in world football and Zinedine Zidane is looking to Werner to replace the departed Alvaro Morata. Barcelona are reportedly looking to sign a striker with Suarez not getting any younger and Paco Alcacer unable to make the desired impact.

Further, signing a striker ahead of Madrid secures a moral victory as well and Barcelona will be looking to get the German to Camp Nou as early as January.

Barcelona not interested in Alcacer's January sale

FC Barcelona v Malaga CF - La Liga
Barcelona want to keep Alcacer till next summer at the least

The 24-year old is reportedly looking for an exit in the January transfer window due to limited game-time since his arrival last summer. Alcacer scored just eight goals for Barcelona last season.

However, Mundo Deportivo reports that if Alcacer does ask to leave in January, Barcelona will prevent any departure till the summer.

Ousmane Dembele's injury can definitely provide better opportunities to the striker and he needs to make use of them to have a chance to play in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Gerrard thinks Barcelona or Real Madrid will sign Hazard in the future

Stoke City v Chelsea - Premier League
Eden Hazard is the best player in the Premier League, as per Steven Gerrard

The Chelsea no.10 was in scintillating form against Atletico Madrid and Steven Gerrard opined that such performances will attract interest from the top clubs. The Liverpool legend told BT Sport:

“Yeah you need to have that confidence and that aura about you. I think when he’s in that form he’s the best in the Premier League for me."
“I think performances like that in this competition, if you keep producing them on a regular basis, I mean Frank (Lampard) won’t thank me for this or the Chelsea fans, but the likes of your Real Madrids and Barcelonas come knocking."

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid or Barcelona sign Eden Hazard in the coming transfer windows.
