Barcelona transfer news: Manchester United plotting to snatch top target, Valverde eyeing stunning double PL raid and more - 25th September 2017

Juventus v ACF Fiorentina - Serie A
United are willing to sign Dybala, should the opportunity arise

Jose Mourinho in for Paulo Dybala

Argentine forwards have been on fire at the start of the season across England, Italy and Spain. While Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi are much more difficult to acquire, Manchester United are planning to sign Juventus' Paulo Dybala, according to The Mirror.

The 23-year old made a blistering start to the season with 10 goals in 6 games after being bestowed with the legendary no.10 jersey this summer. Dybala was a rumoured replacement for Neymar before Barcelona signed Ousmane Dembele.

Thus, Dybala could be a top signing as a striker to replace Luis Suarez in the long-term and will have the approval of Messi, given they both play for Argentina. However, United have a good relationship with Juventus since the Paul Pogba transfer and Mourinho is reported to be very much interested in signing Dybala, should an opportunity arise.

Barcelona looking to sign Ozil and Herrera on free transfers

Western Sydney v Arsenal
Ozil's contract expires at the end of this season

The Catalans are plotting a stunning double swoop of Mesut Ozil from Arsenal and Ander Herrera from Manchester United on free transfers next summer, according to Don Balon. Ozil's time at Arsenal is coming to an end as he refuses to sign a new contract while Herrera is struggling to get game-time at Old Trafford with the arrival of Nemanja Matic in the summer.

On the other hand, Barcelona will continue to look for a creative attacking midfielder along with a central midfielder and both the aforementioned players fit the bill. While Arsenal look to have seemingly given up on keeping Ozil, Mourinho will not be willing to let go of a player who has been tipped for future captaincy at the club at one point.

Nevertheless, time is running out and foreign clubs can speak to the players from January, giving Barcelona a great chance to sign two quality midfielders for free.

Guardiola willing to meet Roberto's release clause

Barcelona v Real Betis - La Liga
Guardiola is interested in Sergi Roberto

Pep Guardiola is looking to raid his former club once again by matching the release clause of Sergi Roberto, as per Don Balon. The right-back, who can play in midfield as well, is a regular in the Barcelona squad but he is yet to extend his contract.

Guardiola's system requires durable and versatile full-backs and the 25-year old definitely fits the bill. However, the La Masia graduate is reportedly interested to extend his stay at Barcelona but wants a pay-scale similar to Gerard Pique.

Manchester City are willing to test the Spanish club's resolve by offering to pay the £35.3 million release clause of Roberto. Only time will tell whether the deal will go through.
