Barcelona front man Pedro Rodriguez has committed his future to the Catalan giants that will see him at the club till 2016.Pedro, though born in Tenerife but has been playing for Barcelona since 2004 has been a regular fixture in the Barca team  for the past two season has been famous for scoring important goals from time to time that includes the opener against Manchester United in the champions league final this year .In his career so far Pedro has scored 25 times in 75 games for the Barcelona first team . The prolific goal scorer also boasts a world cup gold medal plus holds the record for scoring in six different competitions in a single season. Pedro played a vital role in the double winning season last year after the club loaned out the Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich and sold Thierry Henry.

The 23 year old still had four years left on his previous deal but will be signing a new and improved deal adding another year to the old deal with the European champions on Thursday the official site told. Furthermore, his buyout clause would be increased from 90 million Euros to 150 million Euros. The Spanish striker who can operate on both the wings and has the ability to trace back at the time of defense is an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s unit. This move comes after Pep secured another young sensation ,Thiago Alacantra by giving him a better deal in the previous week  after several european giants were hovering over the player thus signaling on developing the youth players and making them the crux of future Barcelona team.
