Barcelona sit comfortably at the top of La Liga with a five-point gap over second-placed Atletico Madrid.

The Catalans have looked pretty active in this transfer window, with recent reports suggesting that they are looking to add more firepower, having been linked with many strikers recently.

In today's Barcelona transfer news and rumours roundup, we take a look at the strikers that they have been linked with as well as the signing of one key midfielder:

#1 Spurs interested in Malcom

It is an open secret that Tottenham Hotspur don't have a blank cheque book, unlike other premier clubs in Europe, but it is clear that they need some additions to their squad, if they want to compete with the big boys in England and Europe.

Star striker Harry Kane got injured in the dying moments of their match against Manchester United, and could be out for a few weeks, while Son Heung-min is to play for his country in the Asian Cup.

This leaves them short of attacking firepower, and it seems that one of the solutions could be Barcelona's Malcom. The Brazilian winger is set to leave Nou Camp, having only arrived in the summer transfer window. The Guardian are reporting that Spurs may bring Malcom on loan from Barcelona, who is also a reported target for fellow Premier League side, Chelsea.

#2 Barcelona linked with Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud

Barcelona are keen on adding a backup striker to Luis Suarez, and have been linked with several strikers recently, which includes the likes of Alvaro Morata, Fernando Llorente, and Javier Hernandez.

The latest to be linked with a move to Barcelona is Chelsea's Olivier Giroud, as per Spain's Sport. The French striker moved to Chelsea from Arsenal in last year's January transfer window, and has made 17 appearances in the Premier League this season, but has scored just 1 goal.

The Mirror are reporting that Giroud will be available to Barcelona for £13.5m in the January transfer window.

#3 Barcelona to bid for 32-year-old Cristhian Stuani

Luis Suarez could have a fellow Uruguayan in the Barcelona ranks by the end of the transfer window as the Catalans have been linked with Girona striker Cristhian Stuani, as per Marca. The striker has had a productive season in front of goal so far, with 12 goals from 17 La Liga games.

The report states that Stuani could be bought for €15 million, which is his release clause.

Munir El Haddadi left Barcelona recently, joining Spanish side Sevilla, which means that the Catalans don't have a backup for Suarez.

#4 Adrien Rabiot price

A week ago, it seemed that Barcelona would wrap up the signing of PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, but talks between the two clubs have reached a dead end.

Rabiot, who is out of contract in the summer, can be signed on a free after the season, but Barcelona are keen on adding him to the team by the end of the January transfer window.

Paris United (via Calciomercato) are reporting that PSG will demand a fee of €15m for the midfielder in the January transfer window.

Barcelona were also linked with the signing of Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong, but recent reports have indicated that PSG have also entered the race to sign him.
