Bayer Leverkusen return to action in the DFB-Pokal, where they host Elversberg at the Bay Arena on Tuesday. This will be their second competitive meeting.
Leverkusen were involved in a share of the spoils for the second consecutive game, as they drew 2-2 with Werder Bremen on Saturday after conceding a 90th-minute equaliser.
That followed a disap\pointing 1-1 draw against French outfit Stade Brestois, which saw their two-game winning streak in the UEFA Champions League come to an end.
Leverkusen, who are third in the Bundesliga, now turn their attention to the DFB-Pokal, where they kicked off the campaign with FC Carl Zeiss Jena on August 28.
Elversberg, meanwhile, continued their push to the top half of the 2. Bundesliga with a 4-2 victory over Hamburger on Saturday. Horst Steffen’s men have gone four games without defeat, winning three, with a 3-1 loss to Ulm on September 22 being the exception.
In the DFB-Pokal, they stormed through the first round, seeing off amateur side Hildesheim 7-0 at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stadion in August.
