Bayern’s first match in 2012 is over and they won it in convincing fashion. Al Sailiya SC, a team playing in the Qatari Second Division, never had a chance to win the test match. Ten goals were scored in the second half.
Jupp Heynckes used two entirely different lineups for the halves with the squad of the first half more or less resembling the regular lineup. Surprisingly (or not, considering that Al Sailiya’s stamina has to be significantly worse) it was the team of the second half that was more convincing.
Emre Can and Rouven Sattelmaier were the only ones who didn’t get to play. Breno and Bastian Schweinsteiger returned and both played 45 minutes without any problems. The two best players, without any doubt, were Franck Ribery and Ivica Olic.

A good start against a very inferior team. The first real test will take place on Saturday when Bayern faces Al Ahly. The club from Cairo won 14 of the last 18 league titles in Egypt so they’re certainly no pushover. People with access to fcb.tv can watch this live, others will have to hope for a stream. The match starts at 7 pm German time.
