President of Bolivia, Evo Morales signs up as player for the Bolivian Primera División club Sport Boys Warnes for weekly wages of 213 $. Club President Mario Cronenbold informed the press, that Morale would be donning the number 10 jersey and will play as a midfielder.

Sport Boys Warnes got promoted from division two in 2013, which is also their first campaign ever in top flight football. In their first season, the Los Toros could only manage a 10th position finish amongst the 12 teams competing in the league.

The club president Cronenbold believes the 54 year old, Morales has a lot to offer under the Argentine manager Néstor Clausen and will do good for the club. As Cronenbold stated, “He loves soccer and he plays well, and besides he is in very good shape.”

President of Bolivia since 2006, Evo Morales has another general election lined up in 2014. With a total of 28 Deputies selected from the city of Santa Cruz (only the city of La Paz has one more post with 29 deputies), this looks more like a political move to Sport Boys Warnes.

Sport Boys are the most loved team from Santa Cruz, and a scenario such as this, where the country’s President is a football player in your team can attract a lot of attention. Probably what Evo Morales is eyeing!
