Zidane will have plenty of options in attack if this deal does go through

What's the story?

Real Madrid have a front line which is the envy of almost all the top clubs across Europe, but even a team as formidable as Los Blancos is capable of strengthening. Although Karim Benzema recently signed a contract extension, there has been plenty of speculation about the Frenchman's future and now latest reports in Daily Star claim that Borussia Dortmund superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is desperate to join the All Whites as a viable replacement for the struggling Frenchman.

The two teams faced off in an enthralling Champions League encounter last night and it is believed that the Gabin international spoke to Perez after the game and told him that he was desperate for a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Aubameyang had an impressive game last night

Ever since Aubameyang revealed that he had promised his grandfather that he would play for Real Madrid some day, the Gabon international has been continuously linked with a move to the Bernabeu.

With Morata's departure and Benzema's indifferent form and injury concerns, Perez is reportedly open to a move for the pacy striker. Aubameyang has made a blistering start to this season as well, having scored 13 goals in 10 appearances so far.

The heart of the matter

One of the most in-form strikers in world football at the moment, Aubameyang has time and again shown with his performances that he is capable of playing in a top quality side like Real Madrid.

Blessed with blistering pace, the 28-year-old's intelligent runs combined with his stunning acceleration could prove to be ideal for Zidane's style of play at Real Madrid.

Madrid seem to lack depth only in the striker department and while Borja Mayoral has deputised well for the injured Benzema, Aubameyang's potential addition will certainly add quality and depth to the Madrid side.

Author's take

Although Aubameyang might have publicly played down talks of a move to Madrid, it is evident to everyone that the Gabion international is keen on a move to Spain's most successful side.

The 28-year-old still has at least 3 years left at the very top level and Madrid will do well to sign the pacy forward and give a new dimension to their attacking play.
