Portugal v Slovakia: Group J - UEFA EURO 2024 European Qualifiers
Portugal will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers on Monday

Bosnia and Herzegovina will play hosts to in-form Portugal in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers at the Bilino Polje Stadium on Monday.

The hosts recorded their third win of the qualifying campaign on Friday as first-half goals from Amar Rahmanović and Miroslav Stevanović helped them record a 2-0 away win at Liechtenstein. Veteran striker Edin Dzeko bagged the assist for Rahmanović's opener.

They are in fourth place in the Group J table with nine points from seven games. They are assured of a place in the playoffs but a direct qualification is also within reach.

The visitors qualified for the main event, recording their seventh win on the trot in the qualification campaign on Friday. Cristiano Ronaldo's brace put them in a commanding position in the home game against Slovakia but their perfect record came to an end as they conceded two goals in the second half in the 3-2 win.

With their qualification spot confirmed, the visitors will now look to end their qualification campaign with a 100% record for the first time in history.

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Portugal Head-to-Head and Key Numbers

  • The two teams have met just five times thus far, with all meetings coming in the qualification campaigns of the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship. As expected, the visitors have dominated proceedings against the hosts and have an unbeaten record.
  • They have recorded four wins and just one game has ended in a draw. They recorded a 3-0 home win in the reverse fixture in June.
  • Portugal have the best attacking record in the qualifying campaign this edition, scoring 27 goals in seven games.
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina have won six of their last seven home games in all competitions.
  • The hosts have failed to score in four of their five meetings against the visitors. They have just two goals in that period while conceding 11 goals.

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Portugal Prediction

Zmajevi have recorded two wins in their last three games in the qualifiers. At home, they have suffered just one defeat in their last seven games and will look to count on the home advantage in this match.

Bosnia have earned just one point against the visitors and have kept just one clean sheet in five games, with both coming at home in the Euro qualifying match in 2011.

A Seleção maintained their 100% record in the qualifying campaign but conceded for the first time on Friday. Nonetheless, they have not conceded in their last four away games in the qualifiers and will look to continue that defensive run in this match.

Roberto Martínez might experiment with the squad, having earned direct qualification into the main event and the three remaining games are nothing more than a formality for them. In two away games at Bosnia, they have scored just once and will look to improve upon that record here.

Nonetheless, the visitors have traveled with a full-strength squad to Zenica and will look to sign off for the current international window with a win.

Considering the visitors' impressive run in the qualifiers thus far and dominance in the head-to-head record over the hosts, we back them to record a comfortable win.

Prediction: Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-3 Portugal
