Bosnian Premier Liga team FK Drina Zvornik announced the sacking of their manager Vladica Petrovic on their Facebook page, as per the BBC. The surprising part is that the manager himself came to know about the sacking through the Facebook post.

FK Drina Zvornik announced on the social network that they had terminated the contract of coach Vladica Petrovic, only for the 44-year-old to comment 'Thanks for letting me know' underneath the post.

While clubs have made it a bit of a habit to share any major announcements through their website and social media portals, they usually inform the concerned personnel beforehand. This announcement must have come as a rude shock for the club;s former boss who seemed to have taken the whole episode into stride and laughed it off.

Zvornik currently sit bottom of the Bosnian Premier League table after ten games, having won two and lost the other eight. Last Saturday's home defeat to Velez proved to be the final straw. The manager lost 8 out of his 10 matches in charge of the team.

"They really fired me via Facebook," Petrovic told Goal.com.

"When I got to the profile, I saw their notice, so I thanked them for it, as more of a laugh. I did not know that my comments would get so many likes."

"I'd rather that people were writing about me for some success with the team, but thanks to this unexpected popularity, I have spoken to some friends who I had long since lost contact with."

Petrovic was appointed as the manager of the club only in July of this year and has attracted a lot of attention through his cheeky comment. What he insists was a genuine response took the club’s fans and followers of the page by storm.

On a weekend that saw Brendan Rodgers sacked from his job at Liverpool and Dick Advocaat walking away from Sunderland, this might be a relatively minor incident. However, the manner in which Petrovic was informed of the club’s decision definitely takes the cake.

Whether the personnel changes ringing in across leagues bring about changes in the fortunes of the clubs remains to be seen. The managers, though, have left their employers with the difficult task of replacing them mid-season, although there may not be a shortage of quality replacements for them.
