Mesut Özil – Sending shivers down Pele’s spine

Brazilian legend Pele has admitted that he fears every single player in the Germany squad, particularly Arsenal’s midfield orchestrator Mesut Ozil.

Ozil joined the Gunners in September 2013 for £42 million and got off to an electric start at the club, with the fans instantly taking to him. However, Ozil’s form dropped and he began to suffer with various injuries which ruled him out for large parts of the campaign, which coupled with Arsenal’s dramatic loss in form.

Pele, however, believes Ozil, who recently responded to criticism surrounding his form for Arsenal and Germany, is a threat for any opposition this summer at the World Cup.

Germany are in Group G and are one of the favourites for this summer’s prestigious tournament and Pele is backing the Arsenal man to shine at the prestigious tournament in his home country along with Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller.

Pele told reporters: “Brazil are the favourites. We are playing at home and have a good team. But I really respect Germany. They are the best team in Europa together with Spain, both are perfectly organised.

“I fear every German player with my heart. Mainly Thomas Muller and also Mesut Ozil. These players could be dangerous.”

Ozil suffered with a number of injuries last season and is being backed to shine in the 2014/15 campaign.
