Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United - Premier League
Martial squander really good opportunities

David de Gea - 7/10

De Gea made a brilliant one-handed save to keep out Glenn Murray's long-range effort. It was a busy first half for the Manchester United POTY as Brighton tested him with a good amount of shots and the goalkeeper reciprocated coming to his team's rescue.

Matteo Darmian - 5/10

The Italian was handed a rare start in the league but proved to be a disappointment failing to make any significant contribution either going forward or tracking back before being taken off after just 67 minutes.

Marcos Rojo - 6/10

Rojo worked well with his centre back partner Chris Smalling making a total of six clearances before coming off in the 75th minute.

Chris Smalling - 7/10

Smalling was once again the defensive rock for Manchester United as he blocked two shots while winning three aerial duels and intercepting three passes. He was caught offside in the final minute of stoppage time that prevented United from getting a point from the game.

Ashley Young - 6/10

Young was a disappointment going forward as he could complete only one successful cross into the box and defensively won just one tackle.

Nemanja Matic - 7/10

Matic was ever present on both the halves off the pitch as he completed three key passes with a passing accuracy of 94% along with making three interceptions in defence.

Paul Pogba - 6/10

Pogba once again was back to his inconsistency and lacked a finishing touch managing to have only shot on target out of his five attempts at goal. The Frenchman completed four dribbles and six long balls but was dispossessed twice.

Marouane Fellaini - 6/10

The Big Belgian once again proved to be an aerial threat in the opposition box winning five duels in the air but managed to have just a single attempt at goal in the entire game.

Marcus Rashford - 6/10

Despite playing the entire game, Rashford only had 42 touches. He did have three shots in total but completed only one dribble while failing to deliver any good crosses into the box playing out wide.

Anthony Martial - 5/10

Martial created three good chances in the second half but all of them went wide playing in a more central position. Similarly, he lost the ball on four occasions but did complete a fair amount of dribbles but his lack of end product cost United as they lost the game by a one-goal margin.

Juan Mata - 6/10

Mata had a fairly decent game playing on the right finishing with four key passes and three successful long balls along with having two shots at goal.

Substitutes

Luke Shaw - 5/10

Shaw managed to complete three dribbles in a short span of time after coming on but he did not provide anything of value when needed while going forward.

Jesse Lingard - 5/10

Lingard did make his impact coming off the bench in the 67th minute but it wasn't enough to secure his team a draw.

Scott McTominay - N/A

McTominay came on for Marcos Rojo in the 75th minute but had minimal impact on the game.
