Local police played party poopers to celebrating Wolves’ fans after they accidentally left a fake bomb in their stadium.

The policemen were practicing emergence drills in the stadium before the match and accidentally left the bomb in an executive box which led to panic.

As luck would have it the device was discovered just before the 30,000 Wolves’ fans were about to celebrate their Championship promotion.

The Steve Bull stand was quickly cleared of supporters, who returned to celebrate with the team after the bomb was labelled as a fake.

Wolves’ chief executive Jez Moxey confirmed the incident and stated that the club have complained to the West Midlands police.

The police on their part apologized to the club and promised to look into the incident.

Talk about things going out with a bang!
