Twitter reacts to Burnley's first victory in 2018 after 2-1 win over Everton

It took a lot of time - almost three months - but the three points finally arrived. Having been surprise contenders for Champions League places earlier in the season, Burnley went through a very difficult phase which finally came to an end.

A superb comeback performance in the second half saw Burnley defeat Everton 2-1 at Turf Moor. This was their first win in 12 matches. Their last victory was on 12 December when they defeated Stoke City 1-0 through an 89th minute Ashley Barnes goal.

This important victory has now helped them reach the 40-point mark for the season, and now leave them in a good position to challenge for a UEFA Europa League playoff spot. Everton, however, have suffered a second straight defeat in the league and could potentially fall to 12th by the end of the day's matches.

Burnley lead Everton 2-1. Their last win in all competitions was on 12th December (1-0 vs Stoke) - 11 games ago. The fact that they've remained in 7th place for so long shows how terrible the Premier League has been outside the top six.
