Büttner will wear #28 as Sir Alex confirms “no more signings”

Alexander Büttner was introduced to the media today during the normal pre-match press conference. The versatile 23 year-old joined United earlier this week and said “I can’t wait to join my teammatesand play my part in helping the club be successful.”

Sir Alex confirmed that Büttner would be thrown straight in to the mix, starting the game on the bench as cover.

“I need to call Bruce and Pallister!” Ferguson joked when asked about defensive injuries and he even confirmed that Patrice Evra might be forced to play at centre back. It seems as though Büttner has joined at a good time to make his mark, and the Dutch youngster said “I feel good. It’s a dream to play for United. I know I can learn so much from the players here and I can’t wait to play with them.”

It was also confirmed that he’ll wear the #28 shirt, a number left free following the departure of Darron Gibson to Everton last January.

Elsewhere Sir Alex said “We definitely won’t be buying anyone else. There is no movement about anyone going the other way,” and if Ferguson is true to his word then what we’ve got at the moment is what we have to stick with.

It was also announced that other new signing Angelo Henriquez will wear the #32 when he arrives from his current club next week.
