After their aborted opening fixture against Kalighat Milan Sangha, East Bengal trounced Police AC 4-0 at the Saltlake Stadium to gather full points and have a perfect start in the Calcutta Premier Division – Super 12 today.
East Bengal dominated the proceedings from the start and opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Nigerian Chidi Edeh crashed in a left-footer from a Reisangmi Vashum throw-in. New signing Joaquim Abranches doubled the lead in the 27th minute when he scored off a pass from Cavin Lobo before Lalrindika Ralte took advantage of a mix-up in the Police box from a Subodh Kumar corner and booted in the third goal in the 33rd minute.
The red-and-gold added a fourth in the 49th minute through Joaquim Abranches, who completed the tally when he scored off a Vashum pass. Lalrindika Ralte and Reisangmi Vashum were booked in the match.
