Uga Okpara: A Brief Biography

Uga Samweli Okpara is a Nigerian football player who currentlyplays with East Bengal in the I-League. He began his career with Enyimba International F.C. and captained the team to victories in the 2002 and 2003 African Champions Leagues. On 15 October 2009, he left Enyimba International F.C. and joined Indian I-League team East Bengal Club. On December 16, 2012, after a 1-0 loss to Prayag United S.C., Okpara pushed Ranti Martins after what seemed irritation from Martins. Then Okpara attacked Martins but was soon subdued by teammates from both teams. However, Okpara broke free and proceeded to rip off his jersey before being subdued again. For two years, Okpara was the Vice Captain of the Nigeria national beach soccer team and represented the team at FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2005 and 2007.
