Carlo Ancelotti: Will manage only AC Milan or Roma if given chance in Serie A

Ancelotti spent eight fruitful years with AC Milan from 2001 to 2009

Ex-Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has told Football Italia that if he returns to Serie A, he will only manage AC Milan or Roma. The Italian has managed AC Milan before, where he won two Champions Leagues and a Serie A title with the club.

According to Corriere della Sera, Ancelotti is set to feature in a minor role in the new film, Star Trek Beyond.

He was talking about his cameo in the upcoming movie to Football Italia, where he cheekily said, “I play the part of a scientist who has to examine an alien. It was good, I pretended it was Cristiano Ronaldo in front of me…”

When quizzed about his future plans, the ex-Chelsea boss said, “I’ll return to football next season, if someone wants me. It would definitely be for a club, as I love to work every day on the field and have contact with the players, so no to a national bench.”

The ex-Italy player has managed four Italian clubs before, namely, Reggiana, Parma, Juventus and AC Milan. But, he stressed upon the fact that he will only manage Milan or Roma, if he gets the chance.

He said, “I’ll be honest, if I did come back to Italy it would only be for Milan. Well, and Roma… In any case, I am above all thinking of going abroad now. I was very close to Milan this summer, but I wanted to take a Sabbatical.”

Ancelotti sympathizes with current Milan manager

Sinisa Mihajlovic is currently AC Milan’s manager. He has endured a difficult start to the season, as his team has managed only 10 points in eight matches and currently occupy 13th position on the table. Milan’s owner Silvio Berlusconi told Sportmediaset on Wednesday that he is not sure about Mihajlovic’s future, according to Goal.

When Ancelotti was asked about the Serbian’s performance thus far, he said, “It requires patience, as there were so many changes and it takes time to settle everything down. The club invested a great deal and expected to start stronger, which is why Mihajlovic is now under pressure.”

“I know only one medicine to heal this problem: hard work. Milan have quality from the midfield up, so should find a system that makes the most of their players’ characteristics.”

“With Riccardo Montolivo, Juraj Kucka and Andrea Bertolacci, they must try to keep possession and with Carlos Bacca finish chances. Of course, Mihajlovic already knows all of this perfectly well.”

The ex-PSG boss is happy with his sabbatical and enjoys spending time with his grandson. “My grandson Alessandro makes me do things that I never would’ve imagined. I’ve gone back to being a kid myself and I’m having a whale of a time”, he said.
