Andy Carroll could be out till next season

Southampton v West Ham United - Premier League

England striker Andy Carroll could be out till the start of the next season due to a heel injury. The West Ham striker, on loan from Liverpool, fell awkwardly in the last game of the season against Reading. But West Ham have confirmed that he will not be requiring a surgery.

Carroll was named in the national team for the friendlies against Republic of Ireland and Brazil. The injury has thus ruled out Carroll’s participation in the post-season friendlies. No replacement has been drafted in for the 24-year-old.

The Hammers have agreed a £15 million deal to bring the striker to Upton park permanently and insist that this injury will not be affecting the deal. Both Liverpool and West Ham have agreed on the price, but Carroll is yet to agree terms with the London-based club.

Carroll moved to Liverpool from Newcastle for a British record fee of £35 million, but was forced out of the side as he did not suit Brendan Rodgers playing style at Liverpool. He has scored 7 league goals in 22 appearances in an injury-hit season at West Ham.
