Champions League: Marseille coach touts Arsenal to go all the way

Arsene Wenger

Marseille’s manager believes Arsene Wenger’s side have what it takes

Arsenal FC were arguably drawn into the toughest group, or the group of death as they call it, in the Champions League this season. Most pundits had written them off even before their campaign had started. However, the Gunners have proved most wrong, with a stellar start in Europe’s toughest competition.

Ahead of Marseille’s visit to the Emirates, coach Elie Baup tips Arsenal to be there or thereabouts come end of the season.

He said: “Arsenal are an extremely strong side in these competitions. They are the best side in our group and are going to qualify”

This comes as a huge compliment considering last year’s Champions League runners up Borussia Dortmund, and the Italian champions Napoli are in the same group.

However, Elie Baup on the other hand, would be desperate to open their account losing 4 out of 4 games.

He added: “We do not want to end with no points – we need to put in our best possible performances in the final two games of the group”

Mathematically, Arsenal is still not out of the woods, but if results go their way, they would have all but qualified for the last 16 by the end of this week.
