DR Congo coach optimistic ahead of African Cup of Nations
Yaounde (Cameroon), Jan 8 (IANS): Democratic Republic of Congo's head coach Florent Ibenge has said his team will play to their best capability and hope to go far in the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
The DRC national team, which is training in Cameroon's capital here, drew 1-1 with Cameroon in a friendly match Wednesday.
At a post-match press conference, Ibenge said, that his players are less experienced but confident. Congo ranks last among the 15 teams in the qualification for the tournament, so anything above last place would be a success, he added.
The 2015 African Cup was shifted to Equatorial Guinea after Morocco withdrew from hosting it, due to the Ebola outbreak.
