Barcelona forward Neymar Jr is of the opinion that his countryman Phillipe Coutinho has all the necessary qualities to play for the Blaugrana side and has suggested that his style of play is suited for the club, Marca reports.

Neymar Jr, who has been one of Brazillian national team’s stars has admitted that many of his compatriots have immense quality and was especially full of praise for the Liverpool midfielder who would be well received if he made a move to Barcelona.

Coutinho and Neymar have a strong friendship that both the players forged in the youth ranks of Brazil’s U-17s, U-19s, U-21s and now the senior national team.

The Liverpool playmaker has been a revelation at Anfield ever since his arrival from Inter Milan in 2013. The whole of Liverpool’s team is being built around the Brazil international who has been a catalyst for the Reds this season. However, his side has struggled against Manchester United when he was out of the lineup after receiving red against West Ham at home.

Neymar spoke about Coutinho in a publicity event.

"I see many Brazilian players with quality today. But one that I like and I think could play here is Coutinho. He has the style of Barcelona."

Neymar is least bothered about individual accomplishments

In the summer of 2014, Barcelona succeeded in swooping for Liverpool’s star striker Luiz Suarez following which the former Anfield favourite helped the Catalan side form a lethal attacking partnership with Neymar and Messi that won a historic season treble.

Suarez was left out of Barcelona’s 4-1 win against Levante on Sunday, but Neymar and Messi were on target for the side. Neymar has now scored in each of his last two matches for the club but he has come out and said he is not focused on individual accomplishments.

"I don't know if I'm going to be the top scorer. What I look for in every season is to get better," Neymar said.

"Last season was fantastic for us, we've won a lot of titles and I scored a lot. So, this season I want to be better and to score more to help my teammates and the team. First we have to think in the group, and then the individual results come naturally," he added.
