Cristiano Ronaldo reveals admiration for Barcelona star Neymar

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has given his opinion as to who can match Lionel Messi in the future. Ronaldo is in competition with the astonishing trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez for the pichichi and Ronaldo has now revealed his admiration for Brazilian superstar Neymar.

Speaking to Calciomercato, the Portuguese superstar even compared Neymar to himself.

He said: “I like Neymar a lot. He is a bit like me.

“He had some difficulties in getting used to his new environment at first, but I knew that he was going to succeed.

“Can he be Messi’s heir? Yes, he has everything he needs to become as strong as him.”

Ronaldo who missed a penalty recently against Malaga also went on to state that he prefers taking penalties over free-kicks because of the adrenaline involved.

“Penalty. I think penalties. It’s better, the adrenaline is better, so I prefer stuff with adrenaline.”

Neymar says it will be good if Ronaldo plays for Barcelona

Neymar had earlier praised Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo saying that he was a fan of the Portuguese star.

"I'm a fan of Cristiano; he's a legend, one of a kind. It would be very good if he played for Barcelona," Neymar was quoted as saying by

Neymar has by his side the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez but he says the credit for the club's success should not always be heaped on the trio.

"I think the team is not only this trident, we can be considered one of the best in history," he said.

"I love playing with my teammates and I feel very proud to be part of this team."

"It's difficult (to defend the Champions League), there are great teams, as good as Barcelona. I can only guarantee that we won't lack the determination to try," he added.
