Reports that Cristiano Ronaldo is allegedly in a gay relationship with his friend Badr Hari, who is a Moroccan-Dutch champion kickboxer, seem to have originated from a single source. Cristiano Ronaldo’s representatives have yet to comment on the rumours, further invalidating the claims.
Daniel Riolo, a pundit on French television show ‘Touche pas a mon sport’ was said to have claimed that Hari and Ronaldo are something more than just friends and that Ronaldo makes the trip across the Atlantic to ‘cuddle’ with the kickboxer.
Riolo said: “What I’m interested in is what players do on the pitch, and whether their side activities might have an impact on that.
“Take the example of Cristiano Ronaldo - I'm sure flying off to Morocco three to four times a week to see a friend and cuddle with him might have an impact on his performances eventually.”
That innocous comment was all it took for speculation about Ronaldo’s sexual orientation to whip up into a renewed frenzy. However, Riolo took to Twitter to deny that he had claimed that Ronaldo was gay, while also pointing out that it didn’t matter.
Putting aside the speculation about his orientation, what may concern the Real Madrid board is the Portuguese’s frequent visits to his friend in Morocco as the jet-lag might affect his on-field performances. The 30-year old superstar flies to Morocco in a £13.5million Gulfstream G200, available at Torrejon Air Base any day of the week. Whenever the Real Madrid forward has a free afternoon, he flies to Rabat, which is on the north coast of Morocco and then jets back to Madrid in order to attend a training session the next day.

The ex-Manchester United star has been linked with a number of models across his football career, including a five-year relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk. Ronaldo & Shayk recently split up after the footballer admitted that he kept sending provocative messages to various other female friends while in relationship with the Russian.
Recently, the three-time Ballon D’Or winner was linked with Marisa Mendes, daughter of Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes. The footballer also revealed on the Jonathan Ross show before the release of his biographical movie ‘Ronaldo’ that he has “a few special women in his life”.
The Portuguese star has shrugged off speculation about his orientation in the past, saying “I’m at ease with my sexuality so it’s not a problem for me.”
The Portuguese government legalized gay marriage back in 2010 and Ronaldo acknowledged the government’s step back then.
He said: “As I am Portuguese, I try to keep myself informed about what is happening in my country.
“We must respect the choices of each other, because, after all, all citizens should have the same rights and responsibilities.”
