Veteran Croatian striker Ivica Olic on Thursday retired from international football after wearing the national jersey for 14 years, with a message of thanks to fans.

Olic wrote in his message, published by the Croatian Football Federation, that he played for his country more than 100 times, scored 20 goals and defended the Croatian colours for 14 years in five major competitions, so saying farewell was a very emotional moment for him, reports Efe.

The Hamburg player, 36, wished the Croatian team good luck this summer at Euro 2016 in France and said he will be its most passionate fan.
