Right from kickoff, Crystal Palace were engaged in playing long balls to their stout forward Christian Benteke with the wingers running through the lines off him.

The move seemed to be working with Zaha troubling the Liverpool defenders in the first 10 minutes of the game and earning a penalty soon after. Palace's designated spot-kick taker Luka Milivojevic stepped up and converted rather comfortably with a powerful kick towards the bottom left corner.

Around the hour mark, Andros Townsend teed up with Benteke to provide the Belgian with an open chance to score but the Palace striker missed the chance. A few moments later, Deja Vu happened with Benteke missing from a similar delivery from the Englishman.

The Eagles combined beautifully played long balls with an ever-probing Wilfried Zaha to attack the Reds on the counter-attack.

Overall, Crystal Palace were unlucky to have not secured even a single point from the game.
