Wenger feels France are favourites to win

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is backing his home country France to win EURO 2016. The French have a very good side filled with stars like Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann and they are playing in front of their home crowd which could give them an advantage.

Speaking to Arsenal.com he said, “I believe France has a good opportunity because they play at home and traditionally at home they have shown they can win. You have to consider as well teams like Germany, who just won the World Cup. Spain, you never rule them out.”

Roy Hodgson will be without Danny Welbeck for the Euros after the forward is set to undergo surgery. The recovery time is estimated to be around 9 months and it is a big blow for the player, Arsenal and England.

The dark horses of the tournament will no doubt be Belgium who will be without Vincent Kompany. But even without the Manchester City captain, the Belgians have a strong team and others will have to be wary of their threat.
