Spanish football has been rocked as national team and Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea, and Athletic Bilbao winger Iker Muniain, are both under investigation, along with an unnamed third player, and porn producer Torbe Ignacio Allende Fernandez for sexual assault. All three players were part of the Spanish U-21 squad at the time of the alleged assault.
Muniain, and the other player have been implicated as taking part in the sexual assault on a protected witness – who made a statement to the police on 3 June – and De Gea as the organizer of the meeting between the witness and Torbe. It is reported that De Gea was the one who called Torbe for her services. Apparently, Torbe and De Gea kept in touch later, as they wanted to keep the woman away from the media.
It is also reported there is evidence on coversations on Whatsapp between De Gea, Muniain, and the woman. The Spanish goalkeeper also asked the woman if she would be interested in an encounter with five Manchester United players, although there is no evidence if that ever happened.
David de Gea is also involved in another case, where Torbe raped a minor, and it was recorded for the Manchester United goalkeeper and other Athletic Bilbao players. It’s worth pointing out these are all allegations till now, and the case is ongoing.
The following is the statement from the Spanish police:
“Having brought TP3 (Protected Witness 3) to the room with the other girl, Torbe told her that they had to be with the footballers, and that they had to do whatever they wanted and that they [the girls] would earn significant money. When TP3 refused, Torbe took her roughly by the arm, saying they had to do whatever the footballer wanted, having sex with the new girl and her”.
“Both the new girl and TP3 were sexually assaulted by the footballers, given that if they refused they were physically attacked by both, and moreover, having satisfied the sexual desires of both players, the footballers threatened them in order to ensure that what had happened in the room would never be heard about. Neither TP3 or the other girl who was in the room received anything for the physical and sexual assault they suffered, with Torbe taking all the earnings”
The players haven’t been contacted by the police yet. De Gea’s representatives have been contacted, but they haven’t made any comments, whilst Muniain’s agent, Txus Medina, said:"We don't know absolutely anything regarding this case, as police or court haven't contacted us to gather any information."
Another Spanish website El Confidencial say Real Madrid star Isco is also involved in the case, and we’re expecting further developments in this story soon. David de Gea is currently preparing for the Euros in France, but there is a chance he could be suspended by Vicente del Bosque after these allegations.
