Dempo SC sign Salgaocar's Japanese playmaker Ryuji Sueoka

I-League champions Dempo SC have made their first signing of the summer in Japanese playmaker Ryuji Sueoka, who left Goan rivals Salgaocar SC at the end of the last season after he could not agree a new contract. Sueoka will be signing on the dotted line in the first week of June. Sueoka said about signing for Dempo’s, “I have seen the club for three years. It has a good management and coach. I feel I will be able to adapt to Dempo’s passing style of football.”

The 1979 Yamaguchi-born Sueoka started his professional career with J-League side Albitex Niigata, but was loaned out to sister club Albitex Niigata FC in the Singapore S-League in-between. After his contract with Albitex Niigata ended, he went to Singapore to join Geylang United and then Balestier Khalsa FC before moving to Bangkok United in the Thai Premier League.

33 year old Ryuji Sueoka had first signed in India in the 2009/10 season for Mohun Bagan AC under Karim Bencharifa before shifting base to Goa’s Salgaocar SC in the summer 2010 along with the Moroccan coach. Now after two very successful years with Salgaocar SC Sueoka switches over to Dempo SC and will hope to continue his successful run in India.
