Arsenal legend, Dennis Bergkamp, has become the latest player to be unveiled in Bronze as Arsenal football club unveiled his statue at Emirates today.

Thierry Henry, Tony Adams and former Herbert Chapman’s statues were already present outside the stadium. Bergkamp was treated with “sign him up” chants when he arrived for the unveiling.

An emotional Bergkamp said, “I am just so honoured and today makes me very proud. It is great to come back and see everyone at Arsenal again.

“Everyone knows I love Arsenal and I had such a great time at the Club. The fans, the staff and my team-mates were fantastic. The team was also amazing and we had a lot of success over the years. For me and my family it was such an important and enjoyable period in our lives.

“This is such a special moment to come back and be honoured in this way.”

Bergkamp had a 9 year stay at the club, scoring 87 goals in 315 appearances. He also had a very successful career playing for the Dutch national team scoring 37 goals in 79 appearances.
