Does Arsenal really need him?

Like always the Arsenal squad has been ravaged by injuries. It’s not something new for the gunners but it has seen them suffer badly. Mesut Özil, Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere are all lying on the treatment table. Arsenal bought Danny Welbeck from Manchester United for £16m after an injury to their striker Oliver Giroud.

However they now look intrested in signing 27 yr old Uruguayan star Edinson Cavani from PSG. The PSG front man is edging closer to the door in the French capital and the Gunners are ready to pounce with a big money January transfer offer. The Uruguayan rumoured to be worth £50m.

But do the gunners need him as they already have Alexis Sanchez, Oliver Giroud, Danny Welbeack, Theo Walcott who can lead the line for them. On sunday Arsenal started against West Ham having Francis Coquelin and aging Mathieu Flamini as thier central midfield patnership.

This clearly shows that Arsenal need a midfield powerhouse that can provide them with much needed stability in middle of the park. Also they need one or two defenders for their injury prone backline.

Instead of a superstar striker Arsenal need a world class defensive midfielder and a defensive cover for the partnership of Per Mertasacker and Laurent Koscielny. Although Arsenal fans will welcome Cavani with open arms money should be spent in areas that need strengthening.
