New President-elect, Donald Trump, is said to be a huge fan of tennis star, and the newly wedded wife of World Cup winning German international, Bastian Schweinsteiger - Ana Ivanovic. Ivanovic, the former world number one, tied the knot with the Manchester United midfielder after the conclusion of Germany’s Euro 2016 campaign.
And Donald Trump is apparently a gargantuan admirer of the former Bayern Munich man’s wife, hailing her as, ‘the most beautiful woman in the world.’
The former French Open winner has garnered a lot of fans mostly due to her talent on the court — and the next president of the United States of America is perhaps one of those people for whom that talent is visible off the court as well.
Former Vice President of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, who now represents the country as its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, claimed that the billionaire businessman stated his appreciation for Ivanovic during his visit to the country in 2013.
The 70-year-old made those claims in a meeting with Ivica Dacic. According to her, Trump spoke about Ivanovic at length during the rendezvous. She said, "For 15 minutes all he talked about was Ana Ivanovic and how she was the most beautiful tennis player and woman in the world."
The local media then queried as to why Trump had such a positive take towards Serbia, to which Dacic responded, "Ana is the one to take credit, he is fascinated with her beauty."
Ana Ivanovic, 29, actually once met Donald Trump back in 2014. The duo took a picture, which Ivanovic posted on her Twitter account back in the day.
Ivanovic may have only won one Grand Slam in her career, but it seems as though she has conquered a lot of hearts — and only a few more powerful than the 45th President of the United States.
However, the one who has conquered her heart is the forgotten Manchester United German Schweinsteiger. The two had been dating since 2014 before tying the knot just some months ago. Sadly, though, things haven’t gone well for Schweini ever since the marriage.
After being exiled to the under 23 side at Old Trafford, a decision which caused mass outrage among fans, players and pundits alike, it seems as though the German will soon be on his way out of England, with a move to Major League Soccer being touted as the most likely destination.
Let’s hope Donald Trump’s wall plans don’t affect Bastian’s chances of plying his trade in the MLS.Published 13 Nov 2016, 14:25 IST
